ZERO WASTE packaging

ZERO WASTE packaging
What do we mean when we talk about zero waste?

No, it's not the fabric we're saving by creating cheeky cut bikinis (although surely that can't hurt either).

We're referring to our mission and the path we're on in becoming a truly sustainable business.

We're by no means perfect, but we are truly passionate in finding ways to constantly improve and minimise our footprint.

So far..

- all of our bikinis are made from (and always have been) recycled post-consumer materials salvaged from our oceans; this includes fishing nets and plastic bottles
- our packaging is sourced sustainably and designed to be re-used
- our notes in your packages are written on recycled card
- our mailer bags are recyclable

But our journey is only just beginning.

We are SO excited to announce that we've moved to a new brand of mailer bags, and they are 100% compostable!

Made from mainly corn starch and cassava root, no matter where the bag ends up (in your home compost, a composting centre, or landfill), it WILL break down.

We're all about doing our part at home, and love a bit of home composting (it's so simple), and over the moon that when added to our home compost piles these bags will only take 90 days to completely break down.
If your mailer bag does end up in landfill, it will take closer to 2 years to break down.  In contrast, traditional plastic shipping mailers take 400 years or more to break down, and release deadly methane gas into the atmosphere. So we're pretty happy with our option for now.
